The Journey

Tammy Hembrow is a well known 28 year old Australian entrepreneur, fitness mentor, and influencer. Tammy’s journey to fame began when she started documenting her fit pregnancy and her fitness regime while coming back to shape after giving birth to her child. With a feature in Australian Forbes, 16 million followers on Instagram and a net worth of $41 Million Tammy shares advice on her road to success.

1. How do you embrace motherhood while facing the constant challenges that come with being an entrepreneur ? How do you stay steadfast in balancing the two?

I won’t lie, it’s a lot harder than it looks, especially with a newborn.  I think it’s important not to be too hard on myself. I notice when I need a break and take the time to unwind. Having a clear schedule of what’s expected to happen the week before is helpful. Preparation is key!

2. You have been able to not only maintain a high level of success within the fitness industry but now in fashion - what led you to start Saski Collection?

Fitness and Fashion are my 2 passions so I thought it was fitting to marry the two together. I wanted women to feel their most confident inside and outside of the gym.

3. I do not think people understand the amount of strength that comes with having such a major influence on social media especially when you involve your personal life with vlogging, interacting with fans via Instagram stories and more. How do you handle maintaining your peace outside of all the noise social media brings to your mental and life?

I understand that everyone is going to have an opinion on everything I do. I have grown quite thick skin from being in the industry and I don't let much affect me anymore. Social media shows a fraction of who I am and I think it’s important to remember that. In terms of ‘handling’ it, I have amazing people around me who uplift and encourage me every day.

4. Being an inspiration to many can be very rewarding. Growing up, did you see yourself where you are now? Or did you have a different career path in mind?

Weirdly yes, I always knew I was going to be successful, I just didn't realize the magnitude of how successful I would be. I would always read self help and entrepreneur books when I was younger. I’ve always had a ‘go getter’ attitude and believed I would have a business of my own.

5. Health and fitness is something many people struggle with. Considering you have your own fitness clothing line and workout app “Tammy Fit” what would you say is the most important factor to staying healthy and in shape?

Consistency. Nothing is going to happen overnight, you get out what you put in.

Mindset is a big one too, rather than thinking ‘I have to workout today’ change it to ‘I get to workout today’.

6. Who is one of your biggest supporters that inspires and uplifts you to keep going when times get difficult?

My kids. They inspire me everyday, everything I do is for them!

7. They say your 20’s are your vital years to map out a blueprint for the remainder of your life. You started content creating early on before it became mainstream in the last decade, on top of being a mother in her 20’s, how have you been able to build such a multi million dollar empire?

It was a lot of hard work and determination. I think timing also had a lot to do with it, too. I saw an opportunity and I went for it, everything kind of snowballed after that.  I think if you really want something you’ll put everything you have into it and you won't stop until you get it.

8. I see that you exude a lot of confidence on Instagram with how you take photos and express yourself. Within fitness, wellness and fashion brining your own individuality to the platform. You even implement confidence in positive outward messages to millions of women across the globe. How do you stay confident and true to who Tammy Hembrow is?

By being myself. I think authenticity and loving the skin you're in is really important- especially on a platform like Instagram, I think it’s important to show your good days and your bad days- to be as real as possible.

 9. Nobody is perfect, no matter how glamorous life seems to appear to outsiders. What is something you are struggling with currently and still working on to this day?

Having a newborn, I'd have to say; functioning on little to no sleep! I’m sure all parents can relate to that lol
